After a successful inaugural CatalystCon conference in Long Beach, CA, founder Dee Dennis is bringing her talents and determination to spark open communication about sexuality, activism and acceptance to the east coast.

CatalystCon East will be held March 15-17, 2013 at the Crystal City Marriott at Reagan Airport in Arlington, VA.

“This conference is meant to energize, enlighten and exhilarate a positive discussion about sexuality, the current state of women’s rights, and to encourage people to take action in their local communities” says Dee Dennis founder of CatalystCon “Now more than ever we need to continue to educate ourselves and share that knowledge to help ignite change.”

CatalystCon is focused on reaching out and stimulating the activist within everyone to help transform the way our friends, neighbors, and politicians approach and discuss one of the single most important aspects of humanity. CatalystCon welcomes everyone to partake in the discussion and help to influence change in how our communities approach sexuality. “The fundamental principal of CatalystCon is that knowledge is power and sharing that knowledge is the first spark to igniting the change in conversations” says Dennis. “CatalystCon will bring that spark and energy to the west coast.”

CatalystCon will be accepting applications for speakers until November 1, 2012 from anyone who has something to share and the desire to spark conversations in the realms of sexuality, activism and acceptance. Individuals, therapists, educators, media specialists, bloggers, activists, women’s rights advocates, health professionals, and others are encouraged to submit an application. To find out more about becoming a speaker at CatalystCon please visit Call for Speakers page.

CatalystCon is a conference created to inspire exceptional conversations about sexuality. It is about reaching out and stimulating those who attend to create those important conversations in their own communities, changing how we as a society talk about and treat sexuality.  It is about stimulating the activist that is within all of us and sparking transformation in the way our friends, neighbors, children and even politicians discuss one of the most important aspects of humanity.

This is a conference where everyone is welcome, everyone is respected, and everyone is encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences.   With the most current attacks on women’s rights such as birth control, mandatory transvaginal ultrasounds as well as sex education being pulled from our schools,  it is more important than ever to come together and have these important conversations on all areas of sexuality.
